C + N Wedding Series – Flowers

In this weeks episode of our wedding series, I want to talk about one of the most fun parts of designing any wedding… the flowers!

The always amazing, Tre Bella Florist, created the florals for our wedding day. I have worked with them so many times over the years as a planner, so it was really fun to work with them as a bride. Our wedding had a modern + classic theme, so for our floral color pallete we decided to go with classic whites and blush, with a few pops of black in the flowers and copper in the vases. We used peonies, garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus, stock flower and anemones as well as dark green pitt and ruscus for greenery.

I knew I wanted there to be a few major floral focal points of our wedding day. The first was my bridal bouquet. My tall frame, plus my all white wedding dress with long sleeves and full crepe material could handle a larger bridal bouquet without taking away from the bridal look. We decided on a large asymmetric bouquet, with protruding greenery and multiple types of lush blooms. Man, that thing was heavy, but it was so gorgeous I never wanted to put it down!

The second focal point was the wedding entrance. The first experience the guests have of the design that sets the tone for the wedding. The guests were greeted by two large arrangmenets in copper vases on white pillars outside the doors to the venue. When they entered the venue, they grabbed a glass of champagne and then saw the stair case (that would eventually take them to cocktail hour) adorned with greenery and blooms.

Gold bookcases from The Prettiest Pieces were filled with candles, smaller arrangments and bud vases, and served as the back drop for our ceremony, as well as our sweetheart table after the room was flipped. A wall of candles and flowers was so romantic as the sun set during our ceremony.
