Trip to Ocean City, MD

Recently my mom and I took a girls trip to Ocean City, Maryland! This is a tradition, something we do every summer. We spend a few days walking up and down the boardwalk eating steamed crabs, drinking wine and enjoying the weather & people watching! I love Ocean City because you can walk to absolutely everything via the boardwalk (we definitely get our 10,000 steps in every day!). If you ever catch yourself in Ocean City, here are my recommendations.

Where to Stay

There are LOTS of hotels on the boardwalk. Everything from chain hotels to smaller hotels that have been there for many years! We stay at the Beach Plaza hotel. It is right on the boardwalk! It has been there for a very long time and has everything you need. A great lobby with a quaint bar, a delicious restaurant and ocean views! The best thing is their large porch looking out over the boardwalk and ocean with all of the rocking chairs you could want.

Where to Eat

We love to really get our fill on steamed blue crabs when we are in Maryland. It is rare to find them in NC and if you do find them, they aren’t typically worth eating! We have a few spots we visit while we are there, but our top two are Mug N Mallet and Blu.

Mug N Mallet is perfect for lunches on the boardwalk. They have indoor and outdoor seating, a great drink menu and crabs by the dozen. They also have an extensive menu of other food, but we have never tried anything else! Haha! Ask for Isiah when you go 🙂

Blu is a more upscale restaurant we usually visit for dinner! They typically have a wait, so we usually sit at the outdoor bar. Part of the outdoor area of the restaurant has sand for a floor, so it definitely sets the “beach vibe”. They do all you can steamer pots, and they come delicious deep fried mac n cheese.

What to Do

Walk the boardwalk

Go to the various bars and try to find your favorite “crush”. Ocean City is the birthplace of the “crush” drink, and boy are the grapefruit ones good!

There is an amusement park!
