Why did you choose the venue you chose?
“I chose Summerfield farm for our wedding venue for many reasons. First, I wanted a venue local to the Greensboro area, second, I feel in love with the venue just driving through the front gates and third the staff! I wasn’t sure what type of venue I wanted when I started the venue process so I researched and looked up venues in and around the area. After making many appointments to tour venues and going on three tours I was a little disappointed as I didn’t feel the vibe of my wedding happening at the venues, I had toured even though I wasn’t sure what I wanted. Then I had the appointment for Summerfield farms! I was pulling into the farm and just going through the front gates I knew this was the venue for us before even taking the tour. During the tour I could imagine our whole wedding day happening at this venue and I fell completely in love with the farm. After the tour completed, I knew this was the one and booked our date!”
Any other vendors you chose for a special reason?
“All vendors were chosen through referrals from our venue except for our band. Our band was chosen by my husband, he grew up with the bass guitarist in our wedding band!”
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
“Cake tasting was amazing and I know was my husband’s favorite part of the whole process, but My favorite part of wedding planning was working with our fabulous wedding planner Carly! I would tell her my vision and she would come up with amazing and fun ideas and details to go with my vision. I would always get excited when we would meet to go over the wedding planning!”
What was your least favorite part of wedding planning?
“I would have to say choosing table assignments. I have been to many weddings where you can sit at any table and it was super stressful for me so I didn’t want my guest to be stressed on picking a seat! I’m glad I did assign tables though even though it was a daunting process lol.”
Did you have a theme or “vibe” that guided your planning?
“Very basic as we wanted the farm to shine as the farm and barn are absolutely beautiful and we wanted to keep the rustic look.”
What did you want your guest experience to be?
“I wanted our guest to have the best time of their lives celebrating our special day! I wanted them to feel like they were more at a party celebrating with us and having just as much fun as we were having! I also wanted our guest walking away from our wedding talking about how much fun they had for years to come.”
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
“The whole day was my favorite but I would have to say walking down the isle with my dad and seeing Troy’s face. Also digging up the bourbon with all our bridal party.”
What was your favorite personal detail or item on your wedding day?
“Our cooper mugs!!! You can’t have Moscow Mules without copper mugs 😊”
What was your favorite part of the décor on the wedding day?
“The flowers! I loved our color selection of the yellow and gray and our flowers really captured this color scheme.”
What was your first dance song?
“I Don’t Dance – Lee Brice”
