Logan and Lou were married at Summerfield Farms at the end of September with a beautiful outdoor ceremony under the oak tree, and an amazingly fun reception under the tent! There were so many unique details about this wedding, but two of my favorites were burying the bourbon and the ‘new-york style’ structure of the reception! Oh and the hats they wore with their hashtag “#teamlougan” on them!
Logan and Lou live in New York, but one month before there North Carolina wedding they headed down to the land of the pines to bury a personalized bottle of bourbon, securing the perfect wedding-day weather. If you don’t know about this trend, read my blog! Wearing their #teamlougan baseball hats, Logan’s dad and Lou dug the hole and buried their bourbon in a custom box made by the father of the bride. That is not the only thing he made for the wedding, he created a gorgeous arbor for the couple to get married under!
I have never organized a ‘new-york style’ reception before, but this certainly won’t be my last. It was SO MUCH FUN! The band plays 30 minute sets before each course of the meal. It keeps your guests on the dance floor all night long and breaks up the typical ‘dinner hour’.
