Why did you choose the venue you chose?
“We chose Cadillac because it was such a unique and beautiful venue. It was the one and only venue we toured, and we knew it was perfect for us. The space is amazing, and you have such free range for creativity for our big day to come to life.”
Any other vendors you chose for a special reason?
“Blush & Bobby’s and Blossoms Florist and Bakery have been family friends of ours for many many years. We knew that they both had to be a part of our wedding day. They are extremely talented women and so much fun to be around and work with. I have also been following Carly Marie Events before I was even engaged. I came across her Instagram and was instantly hooked by her style and knew I had to work with her one day! We lucked out big time that she was available for our wedding day!”
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
“There were so many fun aspects of wedding planning it’s hard to choose just one! Brainstorming ideas with my (now) husband and Mom then watching Carly and our amazing vendors make them come to life was so much fun. All the food tastings were a huge plus too! That was one of the main parts my husband wanted to be involved with and I am glad we have those memories together.”
What was your least favorite part of wedding planning?
“The guest list & seating chart was by far the worst part of wedding planning. You want to include so many people on your special day and it is extremely hard to know where to draw a line before it gets out of hand. And once that list was FINALLY finalized, putting them in an assigned spot was just as hard. I was more than happy once that stage had passed.”
Did you have a theme or “vibe” that guided your planning?
“Not really a theme, but we chose purple as our main color palette and just sort of ran with it. All shades from lilac to a deep plum were incorporated in so many different ways!”
What did you want your guest experience to be?
“My husband and I just wanted all our family and closest friends to have a great evening celebrating with us an enjoying all the elements our amazing vendors put together for us, from the food to the décor, we just wanted to soak it all in together.”
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
“So many to choose from! But one of my favorite moments was when our goldendoodle Lincoln made an appearance for our post ceremony photos. Lincoln was a part of our engagement pictures and my bridal portraits so of course he had to be there for our wedding. Getting some time with him before we had to go in for the reception was special because we were about to leave him for an entire week for our honeymoon. I know the pictures we got with him we will cherish forever.”
What was your favorite personal detail or item on your wedding day
“My something blue was an acorn necklace that belonged to my grandmother. It was tied to my bouquet and I got to carry it with me that day. She passed away a couple of years ago and I knew I needed something of hers with me on my big day. Without her I would not have a lot of things in my life, including our beautiful wedding. She was so special to me and I miss her every day.”
What was your favorite part of the décor on the wedding day?
“All the beautiful items The Prettiest Pieces provided for us! The lounge area in the front room with the purple sofa and black velvet chairs was gorgeous! Blossoms decorated the moon gate with beautiful flowers that we stood under when we exchanged our vows.”
What was your first dance song?
“‘Better Today’ by Coffey Anderson. This song is so special to my husband and I. When he proposed he picked this song out and played it for me in the background while he got down on one knee. The lyrics are so moving, and I will forever get teary eyed when I hear it.”
